great day :)

i haven't had this great of a day in a long time!

i went in for a job interview and told them i could start tomorrow; so i am.  :)  it's called out on a limb scrapbooking.  (yes, i had to google that).

my shift is mon-fri 9-5.  i just put scrapbook kits together.  tedious, but it's a job and i don't have to try to sell stuff!  i don't mind that kind of work... it will be monotonous, but very doable.  :)

yaaaaaay!

teach them when they're young

Jae's so cute! When he started walking, I showed him where the diapers go when they are dirty. From that day on for 2 1/2 months he would take his diapers to the garbage. Then he decided enough was enough and stopped doing it. But, we got back on track and he takes them to the garbage now.

That was James and Jae playing Twister. James is the game-playing-mad-man! He loves to play games and to play with his cousins. I love James' smile at the end of the vid. :)

Thanks for Giving

We had a busy Thanksgiving!

First we visited my cousin Samantha and her family.  Zach and Tasha, friends from Alaska, were there so it was fun to catch up with them!

Then we went to Jen's and stayed for an hour or so.  Always fun to go back there!

We stopped at McD's on the way out bc I forgot to pack a little lunch for Jae.  It was a good thing we stopped bc our meal wasn't ready until after 4.

halloween and california

i am too lazy to reorganize these, so here are some pictures, finally!  i need to backup our files bc i know this laptop is going to die soon!
i went to cali to visit my first college roommate ever! yes, way back when the college was called Ricks.

here i am with jae. he finally fell asleep after chasing him around the airport forever. the shuttle dropped us off at 10:30am and i missed an earlier flight by 10 minutes. :(  so, we had 4 hours to kill. we spent the first 15 minutes going up and down the escalator. from there, it was pure exercise with him.  glad he fell asleep! he stayed asleep on the flight from reno to phoenix! well, except the last 30 mins when he was crying. :(

jae hated being a turtle. this is his halloween costume we found at DI for $5. he wore it a whole 10 mins on halloween.
here he is helping me pass out candy. he would wrap his arms around the bowl and try to take off with it. only problem was: he couldn't lift the bowl.

braden and jae
i can't figure out the new photo insert thing... i can't put a space between the previous 2 pics. anyway, the carset pic is evan, 7 1/2 months, and jae, 16 months, crying. jae wanted milk, evan wanted out of his carseat.

here is eric with the kitty.
 braden and jenae holding evan
her boys loved playing with jae! (jae threw up the 2nd day we were there. threw up twice tuesday and once on wednesday.. then he got a cold and was teething).
here is braden. he is jenae's oldest son. he's 5. jae was running a temp 102-103, so i kept him cool (just explaining his nekkidness).

Jae today

Did I mention I need to post pictures and videos?  I do. I don't have much time.  All day is Jae time, including naps, and when Jimmy gets home it's dinner, relaxing, putting Jae to bed, spouse time, and then bedtime.  Jimmy's laptop is about to die, so I'm scared to put anything else on here without backing our current stuff up.

ANYWAY...

Today Jae was being photographed by his Grandma Gilbert with her cell phone.  He was cracking up and loving it; he would even laugh and smile at the picture when she showed him.  What a goof!

Jae was playing with the wheel and a piece to the jogging stroller for almost 30 minutes.  He was quite entertained by that.

He likes to turn the light switches off and on.

Um, that's all for today; I think it's naptime for myself!

Size 5

Jae moved up to size 5 diapers last night.  SO much better! I couldn't believe I had him in those little size 4's for so long! He went through 1/4 of a big box and after 2 or 3 leaky night diapers, I decided it was time to get new ones.  My friend, Kate, bought 100+ diapers from us for $15.  :)

He had his 15-month appt yesterday, I just forgot to blog bout it.  He's in the 50%ile for height, 10%ile for weight, and 0%ile for head circumference.  But, his head is growing just fine!

I realize I need to get pics on here.  Jimmy's laptop is about to die, so I'm scared to put any more pics/videos on here!  Our desktop and external hard drive are in storage and we won't be seeing those for another couple of months!  I hope we move by springtime, though!  I'm anxious to move on and move out!  I'm glad the in-laws are letting us stay in their basement for free, but it's time to move out... like from day 1.  Ha ha!

Anyway, Jae is healthy and happy and Dr. Omura was very impressed at how well he cooperated during the exam.  I told him that Jae swallowed a magnet a week ago.  He said to just keep an eye on him and watch for those symptoms involving magnet swallowing. (Puking, diarrhea).  We both think it may have passed and I just didn't see it. His first movement after swallowing it was in patty form and I wasn't about to go diggin!  (It's not even gold)!  It was a small mag, so hopefully he's OK!  Maybe I should go see if a paper clip sticks to his stomach. >.<

Job Hunting

So, I've been job hunting for holiday/seasonal help.  I wasn't qualified for Kohl's, which I thought was dumb! I had an interview at Target, but I'm a bit rusty on doing those as the last 2 jobs fell into my lap.  I applied to Best Buy. I have lots of applying to do still, but hopefully something happens for me.  We've spent a lot of money on dental and law school apps! I need to help earn some cash!

Jimmy's job at Extend Health (Medicare enrollment) ends in December sometime.  I think before Christmas.  So, that won't be fun!  But, then my availability will be more open unless he gets hired somewhere else.

Job hunting is my biggest pet peeve!

1 more school

Forgot to put:

Baylor University School of Law

Jae learning new things

I asked Jae if he wanted out of the tub and he crawled around to try to unplug the drain stopper.

In his pile of toys, I asked him to get his cow and that a cow says, "moo!"  He looked and picked up the cow.

He almost stopped taking his diapers to the trash.  We're working on getting him back in the habit.

He was throwing a fit and brought the remote to our bedroom where I was getting ready for the day.  I told him to take it to daddy.  He threw it and threw a little tinesy fit.  I left the room for a second and went back and he had the remote in his hand.  When I noticed him, he threw it.  I sternly told him to pick up the remote and give it to me.  He did.  :)
